About this event
In honor of International Women's Month
Four sisters from medieval Provence who, incredibly, all become queens: of France, England, Germany and Sicily. The new musical Four Queens brings their fascinating yet little-known story to dramatic life.
Join us for a reading of this musical-in-progress, where six actors transport you back to 13th century Europe, teeming with holy wars, civil wars, and personal betrayals. These sisters also find themselves at war – sometimes as allies, sometimes as enemies – as they confront their greatest challenge: will their family love, and their beloved Provence, survive?
As this program is in honor of International Women’s Day, Beth will also share the anthem she created for UN Women as well as the story behind it (it all started with a chance conversation on a playground in New York City…).
BIO
Beth’s award-winning musicals, plays and songs have been performed in New York – at the United Nations, Lincoln Center – in Chicago, DC, Tokyo, Hong Kong, London, Paris, the Côte d’Azur.
